Artist Statement

I try to explore the liminal spaces of transition between the outside and the inside of my body—making connections between familiar and unfamiliar, known and unknown, human and nonhuman. I aim to break the boundaries or limitations of the ideologies of what a body is as a way of confronting or accepting my sense of abjection or disembodiment. I am interested in investigating the internal bodily sensations that act as emotional reactions or responses. I am interested in the fragility of flesh and viewing my body as both material and immaterial, form and formless. I generate visuals of unknown things when thinking about my body no longer physically but internally, abandoning all ideologies of anatomy to reimage the body’s interior solely based on personal experience and emotion.
